Dr Tobin is a Pleural Fellow at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and has developed an interest and advanced skills in Thoracic Ultrasound. She has organised and taught on Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine recognised courses for clinicians and is co-editing a textbook on Thoracic Ultrasound with Gary Lee. She has also authored review articles and case reports on pleural infection and malignant pleural disease.

Claire has a keen interest in Medical Education and held the position of Medical Education Registrar last year at Sir Charles Gairdner. She is a facilitator of teaching courses for junior doctors and was the Trainee Representative of both her Regional Training Committee and the Respiratory Section of the Royal Society of Medicine prior to taking up her Fellowship.

Claire was with the Unit from 2011-2013 and has now returned after a year back in the UK to complete her training. Claire Tobin is a Specialist Registrar in Respiratory Medicine from the UK. She graduated from Oxford University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physiological Sciences (1999) and Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Claire is a trainee in East of England Deanery and her sub-specialty areas of interest include pleural disease and thoracic malignancy.

After completing her time in the Pleural Medicine Unit, Claire took up a consultant position in Respiratory and General Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital.
